Re: How to install the Netatmo
I also was confused about the colors of the wires, as usually the brown (safe) in most of installations is yellow. When I said "make safe" I meant terminate it in a way that means it cannot accidentally touch anything metal (or anyone) - a terminal block is common for this. I'm not famili...

Re: How to install the Netatmo
Your Danfoss connects terminals 1 and 2 together to demand heat, which in your system are blue and black. The Netatmo thermostat will do the same and should be connected to these two wires - there are only two connections available and it doesn't matter which way round they go. (The brown should be ...

Re: Do I need a tri-port valve?
That seems a simplistic explanation (for example, I have 2 two-port valves and that works fine) but it's difficult to say exactly why you were told that from the information you've given. If you don't have any motorised valves, the engineer might have wanted to replace your manual lever with a tri-p...

Re: [Q] strange report
Could be. It's not going to be a direct correlation though. A wet heating system circulates water all the time it's on, but the boiler actually only fires if the circulating water drops in temperature, so if January was warmer than December, less energy will have been needed to keep the house warm, ...

Re: 2 zone system
What does CAR mean? If you want to continue to have 2 zones, you will need to have two Netatmo systems. Are they simple mechanical thermostats or electronic (I'm guessing your second floor one is mechanical, but I'm not sure about your first floor one). Is the "CAR" one also a programmer a...

Re: How to install the Netatmo
The thermostat and probably the relay can be connected here, but I can't tell you how from the information you have given. What make / model number is your existing thermostat? I also can't make out the labels on all the connection terminals, which may also be useful.

Re: Anyone up for a wiring challenge - Help please?!
When the Drayton calls for heat, it connects terminals L and 3 (i.e. your brown and black / brown-sleeved wires). You need to use these two for the control terminals on the Netatmo so it can do the same thing. You should also be able to connect (and power) the Netatmo relay using these wires if you ...

Re: 3 zone system
Thanks, Playmoor. I'm glad you've got it all working, finally! We tried heating prediction for about a week and then turned it off. We can live with a slightly chillier house in the morning if it means we don't get (as we did) woken up very early in the morning with a hot radiator in our bedroom (an...

Re: Set a time period as "Always On"
Essentially I want to add a heating period which does not have a set temperature and just activates the boiler for that set time. Setting a heating period with a high temperature just means the boiler is on far too long in the morning as it attempts to heat the house to chosen temp. I'm not quite u...

Re: Johnson and Starley Thermistastat
Glad you;ve got it dong more or less what you need. As for PID, it's a little too clever for its own good when on a warm air system. Problem is a fan is noisy no matter the situation, and I live in a place you can hear a cow fart from a mile away, it's so quiet - so being woken up by it kicking in a...
