Re: Wind gauge Data
My gauge is sited 6.5m above the ground, but only 0.5m above roof height. I've been testing a calibration of 3m as 6.5m was giving a wind speed far too low at the top end (gusts during extremely stormy weather). As you can see in the image below, we've had some very still weather lately and the gaug...

Re: Outdoor sensor and optimal placement
This is my outdoor setup, a simple radiation shield bought second hand from eBay, the sensor fits perfectly inside. checked and calibrated against surrounding airports using their live wx data and 2 local davis systems. I am 100% happy the temp is spot on come rain, shine, or cold. Does your radiat...

Re: Anemometer Update!
Interesting, today I had a symbol I've not seen before as wind direction (see attached image). I think it means the wind kept changing direction (swirling).

Re: Is anyone satisfied with their anemometer / wind gauge?
I'm pretty satisfied the only problem is that when the wind is strong the average speed indicated seems on the low side but the gusts are okay Exactly the same for me. Gusts are spot on with local stations but average wind speed seems low by comparison when it's windy. Otherwise it seems to be func...

Re: Wind gauge Data
The latest version of firmware introduced a new anemometer calibration setting. Here you can adjust settings for how high you have it positioned above the ground. This will affect the recorded wind speed. Changing the settings here may help with the accuracy. Bear in mind that official wind speed is...

Re: Wind gauge?
I received an email today saying it has now officially been released in the UK.
It was released "early" in Germany and like menu others, I bought mine from the netatmo Germany online shop.

Solar Radiation Sensor/Pyranometer
The next piece of hardware I would like to see now we have the anemometer is a solar radiation sensor/pyranometer.
