Service Incident - 12/03/2024

Again proves that an off-line mode is a necessity... Our heating was off, we want to turn it on again only to find that the system is down. I know it can be forced by setting the thermostat/valves manually to the required temperature but that really isn't the proper way...

Re: Smart modulating thermostat in relay mode: output capability?

So have you tried one of these EMS to OpenTherm adapters adapters ( https://myboiler.com/opentherm/worcester-bosch-opentherm/amp/ ) and the thermostat is not able to establish connection with the boiler? It didn't work with my boiler. Apparently it uses a newer EMS+ protocol if I remember correctly...

Re: Smart modulating thermostat in relay mode: output capability?

According to the specs there shouldn't be a problem. I still feel a bit uncomfortable trying it though...

Smart modulating thermostat in relay mode: output capability?

Several months ago I bought the smart modulating thermostat, hoping it would work with my new Bosch boiler via a opentherm adapter. Unfortunately that didn't work and the modulating thermostat was put back in its box ever since. Now, the modulating thermostat can also work in "ordinary" re...

Re: Screen thermostat black

Looks like an old thread already... The display of my thermostat is still fine but I have this issue on several of my valves, they gradually become totally unreadable... very annoying!

Re: outdoor module battery consumption went crazy

Capacitors aren't supposed to have a "lowest resistance". You are quite right.. until you're not. A failed capacitor will typically behave more like a resistor than a capacitor. Which is why it will drain the batteries like crazy. this particular one was about 18k Ohm - OUT of circuit. Ah...

Re: outdoor module battery consumption went crazy

🤔 as with most if not all passive electronic parts it's not a good idea to try to measure them in-circuit as the surrounding circuit will definitely influence the results. Capacitors aren't supposed to have a "lowest resistance". Quite the opposite actually, assuming you're trying to measu...

Re: Replacing a rain gauge

I replaced the outside temperature sensor once and the data from the old sensor disappeared. You may need to contact the help desk to have your old data transferred...

Re: Smart Home Weather Station Shield

I didn't know Netatmo sold such a shield. I have a similar one (not from Netatmo). To avoid radiation of the sun I have strapped the whole setup to the trunk of a beach tree in my backyard, knowing that the canopy (leaves) reflects IR radiation very well. And even then I clearly notice the differenc...

valve firmware

I notice that the valve firmware that comes with the smart modulating thermostat is currently v89 while my current valves that are connected to my smart thermostat (beta firmware) are at firmware v94 . If I move my valves to my new smart modulating thermostat, will their firmware be reverted to v89 ?
