Re: Rain Gauge Calibration

Just tested the calibration today and counted between 68 to 73 counts so with a correction factor around 1.418 I made the count around 5 times and it took me around 1 min to drop 100ml... The rain gauge only works up to 150 mm/h (see specifications, Netatmo site). If you drop 100 mL within 60 s you...

Re: Rain gauge calibration

Since the max. value is 150 mm/h (Netatmo website), the maximum volume of water is 1840.5 mL per hour. A volume of 200 mL therefore needs a time of at least 6 min 32 s, otherwise the range is exceeded. To be on the safe side, extend the time. Be sure to continuously drop not faster than approx. 0.5 ...

Re: Rain gauge calibration

The relevant diameter of the rain gauge is about 12.5 cm which corresponds to an area of 122.72 cm2. 200 mL equals 200 cm3. This volume per area yields 200 cm3 / 122.72 cm2 = 1.63 cm, which is 16.3 mm.

Re: Rain gauge calibration

You don't have to count the tips. If you pour in 200 mL of water the reading in the web interface must be 16.3 mm/h. Adjust the calibration value accordingly if your reading differs.

Re: Rain gauge calibration

I calibrated mine the following way: I poured 200 mL water in and then adjusted the calibration factor in the web menu until the reading in the web interface showed 16,3.
