Re: Base station - data usage

Thanks for the info - that is almost minimal, so good news regarding cost.

Are you using the anenometer?

Is usage going to increase the more the base station is interrogated (say via PC, iPhone, Android users)? Or have I got the theory wrong?

Base station - data usage

My particular interest is cutting down our data usage, as we're using a 3G WiFi Hotspot (TP-Link M5350) in a remote situation, and broadband usage is a factor. I understand that the base station 'reports' information via WiFi every 5 mins. Is it possible to adjust this frequency to, say, every 15 mi...

Forum usage query

What is the difference between Quick Reply and Post Reply to a forum post?

I used Quick Reply and my reply appears to have disappeared.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Anenometer battery usage

That sounds excellent - many thanks for the information. Even once/year wouldn't be a problem, I just didn't want to be forced to access the unit every 3 months or so....

Re: Camera data usage?

Thanks, CopyCat, that's really useful. Am I correct in thinking that the camera only goes live when there's an event? And an 'event' is when there's movement? I had a rather optimistic use for the Welcome, at an airstrip, to see whether nearby hills were covered in cloud/fog or not. But I guess from...

Anenometer battery usage

I'm waiting for my anenometer to arrive (from Germany to UK), and it would be helpful to have an idea of battery usage. The device will probably be mounted in a slightly inaccessible place, and battery usage is a concern. As it's not a conventional anenometer, I'm assuming that stronger winds don't ...

Re: Camera data usage?

OK, putting it another way:

If the camera image is reasonably static, with negligible movement, is the only data usage when Netatmo is being interrogated/viewed by someone?

Camera data usage?

I am about to purchase the camera module, but I'd appreciate an answer to the following question: For various reasons, I need to use the main Netatmo station, and camera module, at a location where I have to use a WiFi Hotspot (TP-Link 3G Mobile WiFi M5350). Is it possible to adjust the camera to on...

Barometer accuracy query

I've only just started to use my weather station, and I'm curious about the accuracy of the barometer, as for my use, it's an important reading. Looking at the Netatmo WeatherMap, within a 10 mile radius of my location, the pressure readings of other users vary by about 6 mb (i.e. from 1013-1019). W...
