Outdoor Module Battery Consumption

Post by sdreiter » 24 Jan 2018, 12:56

Hi,

I’ve recently moved to Australia from the UK, since setting up the station the battery consumption in the outdoor unit has been extremely high. I’m currently replacing the AAA batteries roughly every 3-4 weeks!

Can anyone suggest the issue or what I might do. It’s just over a year old, not sure whether the higher temperatures have an effect on the consumption or if there is another issue.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

That is not normal but it is a rather common problem. Contact Netatmo support (support.netatmo.com).

Thanks for the info. I had a fairly useless reply from the natatmo support team. They just said it is defective and I should contact the supplier. Not much use as it’s over a year old (just) and I’m living 10000 miles away. I’m going to have to bite the bullet and buy a replacement.

Hi, after these worthless replies from Netatmo support, I contacted the suppliers technical support (in Sweden), and they told me that it is a faulty product and a very known issue.
The told me to go to nearest shop and pickup a new outdoor module. I did it yesterday. Wihtout a receipt I changed my 28 months old module just like that..
If I would have lived far away from a shop, I am sure they would had arranged that too..

Hi, wow that is good.

I’ve ended up purchasing a replacement outdoor unit, waiting for it to arrive. If I have the same problem again I will try your suggestion.

Thanks
Simon

My dad has one and only needed to change after 18 months or so. I think there must just be some bad ones out there.

I have just come on here to post about the very same issue. My outdoor module is also a good year or so old.

Wonder if I bought one from Netatmo then returned the old one.
