Maybe some sort of short circuit?

I will say: same as GOREGzer, if you can look at the PCB inside the sensor body if there is some corrosion ?

Well, looks like you need special screwdriver to disassemble it. I have a proper head, but rest is too thick and it won't fit in the hole

OK I managed to open it, conus torx I guess. There is little bit of water inside, no rust. I will let it dry overnight, hope it will work And will try to find new place for it, protected from rain.

if you can put some macro photo of the board (both sides) and in order to suck all humidity you need rice or other (the on eatable dehumidifier from food package is also ok)
Re: Outdoor module - batteries discharged in 1 day
I already assembled it back, so don't have any pictures. Been outside for 2 days and battery seems OK, looks like problem is gone.

Re: Outdoor module - batteries discharged in 1 day
good to know.
Sometime you can have a white or green mist on the different tracks.
Since chips have become smaller they are also weaker to humidity.
I have found a coating for electronic at a specialised store.
(If you spray it don't forget to cover the battery contact and the sensor with masking tape ....

Re: Outdoor module - batteries discharged in 1 day
Well, looks like my problem was not solved as I hoped - after 1 week, batteries are gone again. So it's not 1 day now, but 7 days.
I took picture this time, some area (specially bottom left) doesn't look good. I used toothbrush and some alcohol to clean it, you can see result on second picture.
Put new batteries, will see how it goes.
