Homekit Hardware

What is the difference between V1, V2 and V3? Apple Homekit requires V3 but what is the physical difference?

I asked this question some time ago and @Sandra_C from Netatmo told me that is has more internal memory for processing as over all little improvements.
There is also a V4 now but apparently it is similar to the V3 just with some components from different suppliers.
Home:Weather Station (V3 + Rain Gauge, Wind Gauge, 3 additional Indoor Modules), Valves Starter Pack + 5 additional Valves, Smart Video Doorbell
Office: Thermostat (V2), Healthy Home Coach, Smart Smoke Alarm
