Low image quality - Where is the issue?

Post by JulienG »

Hello,

I am reallly disappointed by image quality.

My doorbell is connecting through wifi on a dedicated access point
- RSSI (DBM) : -60 DB
- Rate (MBPs) : 33
I think this is more than enough to get a good image.

My internet connection is 350 MBP on both upload and download through speed test.

However image quality is not great and it takes time before it shows properly.

Where is the issue coming from:
1) Is it coming from Netatmo infrastructure?
2) How can I check image by connecting directly to my doorbell through my local LAN?

I have latest firmware (v80).
Video quality is very good when I download from the SD card.

Thanks

Video quality when you download is still only 720p (720x1280), while the doorbell is being sold as a 1080p video doorbell (1080x1920)..
So it should be a lot better.

1080p currently beta testing. Will probably go to general release soon (unless major problems found on testing)

However it does not explain why I have this low image quality when someone rings.
Any idea ?

What device(s) are you watching the live feed on?

What exactly do you mean by image quality is not great and takes a while to show properly?
Does this mean the image is poor when you first answer, then is ok after that?

My image is slightly lower quite when the call is first answered, then improves very quickly!

Maybe if you post a screen grab showing the difference in quality between a live feed and a recorded feed will help someone identify the problem.

Here is typical image quality I am having after 30 seconds. It is not becoming better after it rings.
