Enable end-to-end encryption for Netatmo Doorbell

Post by localvscloud »

Ring have launched this as opt in and is in "technical preview". It would be fantastic if Netatmo also implement this as well as two factor for accounts. Two factor has previously been requested here: https://forum.netatmo.com/viewtopic.php?f=125&t=17296

Smart home company Ring on Wednesday introduced end-to-end-encryption for its video doorbells and home security cameras. Launched as a "technical preview," Ring's end-to-end video encryption will roll out to existing customers starting today. The feature is available on an opt-in basis.

Their product page states "IPsec, TLS". I just assumed they VPN tunnel traffic app-doorbell traffic. Is there evidence that this is not the case?

Also, 2FA is for identity authentication. Definitely good to have, but not related to end-to-end encryption.
