3 transformers but no luck

Post by Derckie »

Hello all,

I am try to setup my new doorbell but i don't have any luck and it is so frustrating. No response from netatmo support last 5 days.....

1) transformer 8v 8va
2) transformer 8v-24v 15 va

Transformer 1 (swithc on 2 - low ) 8v purple flashing
Transformer 2 (switch on 2 - low) 8v purple flashing
Transformer 2 (swithc on 1 - low) 12V flashing green forever

Every time when changed the transformator i reset it with usb.

I was able to add it with transformer 2 one time, but after 15 mins it's saying no video because low power and disconnects every 30 mins.

Here are some pictues.

Hello Derckie,

With 12VAC transformer, you should not get any issue related to power.
Your wiring seems fine, impedances you've measured are correct.

Please find below the steps to perform a factory reset of the Smart Video Doorbell :

* Remove the Doorbell from the wall mounting plate.
* At the back of it, you will find the [USB port](https://i.imgur.com/ekLb3VM.jpg), above the serial number, next to the SD card.
* Plug your Doorbell on a powered USB cable
* Wait for the LED to turn off
* Press the reset button until the LED is solid green
* **CAUTION:** Wait for the LED to glow white before unplugging the Doorbell from the USB cable , then plug it back on the wall mount.
* Restart the installation from step 24 of the user guide.

With 12VAC, you should be in LOW1 position on chime module.
After step 24, you should wait around 1min/2min before hearing the melody from the doorbell.
In this period, the IR LED is ON in order to compute the current which can be drawn from the transformer, that's why a factory reset is mandatory when (even a little) modification is done on the electrical installation.

Tell us how it goes,
Thanks

Hi Vicent,

I already tried it many times with the reset:

I plug it to usb and wait for the led to blink white.
then i reset the unit flashing red and wait till it's green solid
i wait till the unit is rebooted and flashes white again (it will take about 30 sec)

When I plug it to the transformer again (12VAC) it blinks green for a while and then red then green again and so on.
I don't see the IR led turns on (I saw this only one time) and hear the melody........

It seems like it is in bootloop or something.....

Thanks, Derck

P.S I also changed the fuse in the doorbell and chime module, but no luck.
When I try to boot it (after reset) with 8v 15va and the chime on 2 - low the led keeps flashing purple
I also bought a Byron 772 (is on the support list and wired 0 and 3 to connect) but same problem.

Try 24V. I had the some problems that you have and only with 24V it works stable.

After a lot of messages with Vincent it seems that indeed the only way to get it working is on 24 v

I bought a 24v chime (hard to find one in netherlands) but I don't like the buzz. Isn't a ding dong. What kind of chime do you have?
