Chime with an internal transformer (8V/1A) and chime module settings

Post by EmptyAir »

Hi guys,

I have a chime with an internal transformer, probably the same that is shown in the help center document (the one with the T-86 transformator).
I re-wired the chime module according to the help center document yesterday and since that it seems my problems I had with the chime (buzzing/vibrating) are gone.

At the moment I am still wondering how to configure the chime module correctly?
As described in setup guide I did set it to 1-LOW. The video doorbell was fine with that. However in that post it is mentioned that 1-LOW is for low-voltage systems, between 10.5VAC and 24VAC. As the T-86 transforms from 230V to 8V/1A should I set the chime module to 2-LOW (for very low-voltage systems, between 8VAC and 10.5VAC), even if the LED in initial setup was not purple? And if yes? When should I set it to 2-LOW?
(a) After video doorbell is initialized
(b) during initializing, before pressing the doorbell button the first time
(c) directly at startup, before initializing?

Thanks for your input and kind regards from Germany,
Markus

Doorbell ran fine for the last two weeks with 1-LOW.
However this night I got the message that the doorbell is in energy saving mode (even if in the same moment I got the message that it is back to normal).
So I am pushing my question: wouldn’t it be better to set it to 2-LOW?

Thanks and regards
Markus
