It takes in mains but looks like it’s stepping down to 6v not 8 as detailed on the product pages. Do I need to replace this chime to install the doorbell?
Thanks

Re: Is this chime compatible?
The Doorbell requires 8V minimum, therefore this chime can‘t be used I‘m afraid.

Re: Is this chime compatible?
Thank you for the confirmation. Can anyone recommend a fine I can buy that will work to replace this one? We’ve only got a single button connected to it.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Is this chime compatible?
Should work, however this one is 8V 1A. Depending on your wiring (length, shielding), your might run into issues with insufficient power.
Since it’s Amazon, just give it a try or look for something with at least 8V 2A or better 12V 2A.

Thanks, I’ll give it a try.
Re: Is this chime compatible?
Just to update, I finally got time to swap the 6v chime for the above linked Byron one and installed the door bell and all working well.
