Thermostat first generation

is it to possible to change first generation of thermostat with no support to homekit with new one?

Yes this would be a good gesture for netatmo to swap or subsidise if they are unwilling to release an update

As I understand it, up-until recently the problem with HomeKit and the first generation of the thermostat was the lacking of the physical HomeKit chip.

But with OS 11, this is no konger so, i.e. software can do the job (ca 0:50):

Will the 1. gen. thermostat, and the Welcome camera, be retro-fitted with HomeKit support?

Was pitched here right after Apple announced it last year at WWDC.
Netatmo said they'll "look into it".
