Long List!

Post by KDpt »

Hi to everyone on the forums.

I apologise before I bore you all, this is going to be a long one.

I have been reading these forums now for a few years and also have
had severals issues sorted out by direct contact with Netatmo Support.

So I have put pen to paper to air my out loud thinking, some quirks, my
personal ideas (good & bad), things I'd like to see and niggles etc etc.
Before I continue overall quite pleased with the system.

My system her consists of 2 Stats + 13 Valves controlling my CH with a
Instagas condenser boiler. The House has 17 rooms including integral
garage. I'd like full control of all rooms, some things have not yet
been implemented and still trying to sort it all out, but try to using
Netatmo as an integral part of my home automation....

I have PV Panels & Air/Source AirCon Upstairs and Downstairs for alternative
heating/cooling (mainly when spare PV is available). I was to have PV battery
backup fitted in May but have postponed for few months. This background
info is just to help visualize some probs that pop up and may help someone.

Stats & Valves Listed:

Living Room Stat
Kitchen Stat*

Living Room 1
Living Room 2
Hall
Toilet/Wash
Utility Room

Bedroom 1
Bedroom 2
Bedroom 3
Bedroom 4
On-Suite
Bathroom

Not yet implemented: mainly due to the 10 room limit.(expand ideas further down)
Loft/Bedroom 5
Airing Cupboard
Garage
Conservatory

*Kitchen/Dining Room consists of 2 kickboard CH Fan Heaters.

Only Ideas: In no order sry.

* Why are there no holes in the Thermostats for the air temp sensors.

*Boiler (Instagas) has external Temp Sensor to change boiler water temp
useful or disconnect.

*Best recommendation, to leave at least one rad so a min flow if all
valves are off with boiler/ch still running, either normal or in overrun.
(Albeit that most boilers now have a built in bypass)

*More Minimum Ctrl of ALL Stats & Valves if Wan not available.

*Open Window/Door mode *More than 10 rooms (to be changed in future update).

*If setting a manual boost its difficult to set the existing scale for less
than 1hr (ie 15 mins). Useful to me in rooms with Fan Assisted Rads in use
for short periods like garage (very fast warm up times).

*Set extra zones ie All Downstairs, ALL Upstairs, Working (Garage+Toilet) etc
with settable times for occasional use with a single button press.

*Be able to change order of Stats & Valves on screen.

*Improve Graph update response times.

*Able on single screen to show whole house Temperatures with a simple Stat &
Valve status, even if its a separate app or program. (maybe a separate unit
able to poll all units just for display purposes).

*Able to use any screen in any orientation (I have tablets in fixed positions
that would have to be removed to show the other screen displays), nice to be
able to switch modes directly.

*Would like switch between modes on the fly ECO/COMFORT without having to go
delving into the menus (ie for Rad valves/Stats to switch modes).

*Slave remote relays (ie I have 2 kickboard CH Fan Heaters in the kitchen
with one on the opposite side of the room) or below.

*A tie in to control remote mains Pwr sockets. Wifi or RF Sockets etc.

* If you have changed from a boiler with tank to a Condenser Boiler and as in
my case the new boiler is in the airing cupboard, it no longer gets warm enough
(according to the Boss) in the CH Off season to 'air' the clothes etc, in the
CH On season I have a towel rail that heats the cupboard which works perfectly.

So the idea is to fit one of my spare Netatmo Valves on its own
summer schedule to come on for 15mins every 2 or 3 days. Cannot
implement it yet because of 10 room max limit(to be changed in a future
update). PS it does have an electric heater in rad which uses spare PV.

*No manufacturer can stand alone, these products will have to consider closer
integration in the future. (Very much mix & match at the moment).

Not mentioned but Yet! - been trying to fit 100L to 200L Water Heat Store amongst
lots of other things. (for DHW & short one room heating etc).

Lots more but if you made it this far you're a real glutton for punishment....
