Frequent Server Disconnections

Post by hcalin » 06 Oct 2016, 16:24

Good day Netatmo users

I successfully installed, connected and configured the Relay on a Vaillant ecoTECH Plus 306.
Next to the provided remote unit, I use an iphone / android app and also the web-portal.

I have noticed that the Relay will disconnect around the same time every day (between 12:30 > 13:30) and it does not come back online.
The only solution is to manually restart (power cycle the unit) and / or reconfigure the WiFi access.
The unit was ping reachable but not connected to the Netatmo Server last time I tried to connect.
My WiFi signal is strong ( 4 out of 5) and there are no alarms or other radio device interfering around.
The internet connection is stable ( I have logging enabled on my router and there are no ISP internet disconnections)
I also monitor the Wifi channels and they are equally stable.

Today I also noticed that after a schedule change with the iphone app, the ralay went offline did not reconnect.

Anyone has any positive experience with this kind of behaviour ?

is it possible to get a firmware update ?

Best regards

Calin

Same issue with my brand new thermostat, app says it's disconnected from the server but in Settings you can see the connection details and they are all fine.. also checked the connection with the router (apple extreme) and the quality of tue signal is excellent. Also the quality of the signal between thermostat and relay is excellent.
I think it is more of a server side issue.
There are a lot of reviews on amazon of people having the same exact problem.
I hope they will fix this issue soon

Same disconnection problem here.
Last fall/winter everything worked fine with my 2 thermostats.
Firmware 40 on both my thermostats and the wifi modules are VERY CLOSE to the thermostats.

Welcome to the world of Netatmo - great while it's working, a piece of junk when it disconnects. I've had my thermostat a year now and it disconnects from the servers at least twice a week. Homekit isn't active and my wi-fi and router are stable and reliable. It's time Netatmo solved this fundamental problem with their product!

also checked the connection with the router (fritzbox) and the quality of tue signal is excellent. Also the quality of the signal between thermostat and relay is excellent
The only solution is to reconfigure the WiFi access.

Same here...
Nobody has a solution? Even the people from netatmo??

I have manually upgraded the temperature, so the schedule went off and just after that I realized that it was disconnect...
Now I cannot load my schedule back.
Any idea?
Thanks!

Hello from Italy,

i can sadly confirm this issue for the last 3 months.
All my temporary solutions:
- turn off and back on the relais or
- turn off and back on the thermostat or
- resetting the relais.

Thermostat has his own static dhcp i.p address as all my other devices at home. Network and internet connection are fine.
Thermostat and the weather station(=never ever lost the connection) are the only devices connected via wifi. all others are wired.

You should really address this issue as soon as possible!

Regards,

Markus

Hi drjackomo,
I am using Vodafone VSR and I can't get the relay connected directly to it. I have to connect the relay to a wifi extender I have.

I have sent an email to NetAtmo support, but no answer from them...
