Detect of opened windows or simplify the away feature

Post by bud » 07 Nov 2016, 17:40

Hi netatmo!
I'm very happy with my netatmo thermostat, but I have found one thing that really annoy me:
Usually in the morning I keep the windows opened for a long time (let's say 30 to 45 minutes) to let the air to be changed in the apartment.

The temperature will be lower in that time and the thermostat will keep to do his work powering on the boiler. I have to open the app and set the "away" feature or manually I have to lower the set temperature and later restore it using the app.

It will be awesome if the thermostat can recognize what is going on.
Another easy solution can be: use some kind of gestures! like "long press on - to activate the away mode, + to restore the programmed temperature" or turn the thermostat upside-down to indicate the away. (it will be very funny!) :D

It would be nice just simply detecting the open window.

The tags would be perfect for this and i would instatly buy some of them if they would be compatible with the thermostat (and if they would be available for sure). I think the developers behind the tags didnt think much about it when the developed them.

If you know the time when you open the windows can't you program the thermostat accordingly ? Ie anticipation off - 7.30 - 21, 8.00 - 18, 8.30 - 21 ?

The netatmo valves will have a open window detector, which automatically turns off the room radiator.
