Homekit sensor and tags question

Post by ChmGolf » 14 Nov 2018, 18:15

First of all, thanks very much again for the homekit update.

However, I have two questions concerning the sensors added to homekit:
I got two sensors added beside my camera, one motion sensor and one occupancy sensor. What is the difference? Every time I pass by the occupancy sensor is triggered... I would have thought the motion sensor behaves like this.

So please could someone explain the difference of the two sensors? What triggers the motion sensor?

I also have tags added to my camera, all of them on v49. What role do they play in homekit?

Thanks very much!

Hello,
The motion sensor triggers for any motion detected and stays triggers for as long as the motion event is happening.
The occupancy sensor triggers when the camera detects a person and stays triggered for 5 minutes after the person is no longer detected.
Hope this helps.

Thanks very much, that way I understand the sensors behaviours.

Could you please comment on the welcome tags? Are they involved in any way in Homekit?
