Defective SD card reported
Defective SD card reported
My indoor camera will work for a few weeks, then will suddenly report 'defective SD card'. If I turn the camera off and on again, it will work fine again for a few weeks before the error returns. This is with the SD card that came with the camera.
Does anyone else see this?

Re: Defective SD card reported
Perhaps the original SD card is failing as the interval between failure messages has been decreasing and I can't get it to work now. Swapped for a new SD card and seems to be OK for now.

Re: Defective SD card reported
Hello fsf976,
When the camera returns a defective SD card, the first thing to do is to try to remove it and put it back to make sure it is not a false positive.
However, when the error message shows up regularly, it indicates the card is no longer working properly. According to your description, it was most likely a bad sector and not the whole card.
As you replaced the SD, you should no longer experience any difficulty, however, please feel free to get back in touch with us if the message shows up again. We will be pleased to investigate and help you to sort this out!

I had the same problem, replaced the SD, but now all the faces are not recognised, even if all profiles are still there, but their strength is "red".
Did I lose everything?

Hello MarcoGT,
The biometric data linked to your profiles are saved on the SD Card. When you replace the SD card, the profiles remain but not the data.
It will therefore be necessary to manually identify faces to rebuild the profile but this should not take long.
We thank you for your comprehension,

Hi Guillaume,
Thank you. This does appear to be the case. My Welcome camera is under a year old so is it possible to have the SD card replaced in der guarantee?
Thanks

I have the same issue however I have now replaced the A’s card twice and the camera eventually destroys the new one. I now feel it is a camera issue. The last one only last three weeks.

Also got the same issue. After changing to 32gb microsd. I think it appears because of micro sd is heating all the time. So we might need to use some industrial type of microsd which have wider range of working temperatures.

I now using the 4th sd card, as the previous three were damaged by the camera. I agree on the suspect that the camera exposes the sd card to too much heat, hence the frequent damaging
