@Kanecaine
I don't see any differences after upgrading my two cams to v440. The red light is on once IR view is active, otherwise it's off. Apart from that no red light is on at any time, neither during streaming nor during recording.
The only small difference I notice is the time between toggling IR on/off being a bit longer.

Furthermore: i did a reset today on the first cam, which resolved the problem (as it turned out, because of removing from homekit, see edit below) but had very big trouble in getting it working again. As it turned out the cams cannot connect to my wifi anymore. Setting up by mobile app fails in the last step, when the network settings should be written to the camera ... timeout. Tried with ipad and iphone, no chance. After that i plugged it in the computer and tried the setup program. This completed without errors, but after unplugging still no connection to wifi. I did a reset on the router and other things, but nothing worked. The cam cannot connect anymore. At last i tried to connect with ethernet cable and this works. But i do not have ethernet near the cam, so it is only a workaround. Hope this problem can be solved.

So everybody be warned in doing a reset on their camera with the red light error, as it might break the wifi connection. Did not want to try it with my second camera. Anyone here with the same error?
I spent at least 2 hours on this issue earlier this week, on firmware 426.

My solution was to setup the camera again using an Android phone; that worked the first try and my iOS devices were then able to see the camera without any issue.

Note that my Welcome is the older model which didn’t have HomeKit code printed on it.

Yes...HomeKit Secure Video is configured and working on my indoor camera now!

From the Home app I tapped on the camera and then to its settings. I scrolled down to "Streaming and Recording".

Next, I tapped on "When Home" and was presented with 4 options: Off, Detect Activity, Stream, Stream & Allow Recording. I selected "Stream & Allow Recording".

I repeated that process for "When Away".

When I got home from work I checked my camera from the Home app. There was a timeline that allowed me to see detected activity from a few minutes earlier.

I've been checking it out over the past couple of hours and it seems to be working as advertised.

I'll change the "When Home" setting to off. I don't need to stream/record while I'm at home. Also, I'm not sure what I'll do with my previous setup that saved recordings to an FTP server on a Raspberry Pi. New recordings are still being sent to it.

Hi,
Also got my camera updated. Seems fine, even if the behaviour is a little different from before. Very annoying with the red light, but I think I have found a way to turn it off.
I liked the way it worked before, on when someone actually used the camera.
Homekit secure video is working, but I think the documentation for it is poor. How long will the videos be kept? Same as on the SD card? Does it follow your settings and delete videos and event according to your camera configuration? No idea...

Also, any one else experience that the home app on mac is crashing when you delete many videos? Seems consistent. Crashes when you delete some videos. Did not crash if you delte from the end, but if you delete in the middle of the series, it seem to crash after 8 delete operations. Anybody else?

I was able to turn off the red light using the Netatmo Security app.

Recordings are kept for 10 days and do not count against your iCloud storage limit unless you decide to permanently save a recording.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but, it seems like I must leave monitoring ON in the Security app for HSV (HomeKit Secure Video) settings for streaming and recording (in the Home app) to work automatically "when home" or "when away". Is this correct?

Hello all,
You can read more about HomeKit Secure Video in our blog post: https://www.netatmo.com/blog/en/securit ... o-support/
You will also find a video that explains how it works.

FabioR6 wrote: 27 Feb 2020, 20:04 But now, the streaming live led is turn on all of the time.

Do you have a same issue ?
Yes, same here after update V440. I have two welcome cameras. First one showed permanent red light status led (not the ir light) for some days. Later i saw that this camera was updated. Today the other camera got the update and since then shows permanent red light too. The help center says, that it is an error and we should contact support. So it seems that update 440 broke the welcome cams, but it seems also that everything is working normal. I dont want the permanent red light and i do not even think it was intended. So Netatmo, please help!

Furthermore: i did a reset today on the first cam, which resolved the problem (as it turned out, because of removing from homekit, see edit below) but had very big trouble in getting it working again. edit: so it seems that the red light is intended since the last update, as the english help center article says:
Red Solid – the Camera is active and configured for streaming and recording. This is the case for any Camera that is configured both in the Netatmo Security app and HomeKit. This option can be disabled in the settings page of the Camera in Apple’s Home app (“Camera Status Light”). Only available in HomeKit, on iOS 13.2 or higher.
I read the german version before, and there solid red is still mentioned as an error. As i am german speaking, i did not check the english version of the article since my post here. So it seems, that the permanent red light is intended and should be possible to turn off, which i will try.
On the other hand it would be nice, if netatmo would state this change in the app and of cource all languages in the help center should be updated asap.

I have the same issue firmware 440 no more WiFi working, it works only cable LAN. Try to reset camera and setup again with iPhone, iPad and MacOS, only with Mac OS it works but when I disconnect USB cable from Mac and I plug USB power adapter WiFi stop working again.

Hi,
I solved the issue deleting Welcome camera from Apple Homekit and using an Android phone to setup it again. Now WiFi works.
