No way to make it work

Post by borjam2 » 07 Mar 2020, 22:30

I just purchased a Welcome camera.

I have tried to set it up from an iPod, iPhone and a Mac. In all cases it connects to the wireless network but it seems to crash afterwards.

The only error I see is "An unexpected error occurred. Please try again".

And I say it crashed because on a network packet capture I see this. While connected to 51.145.143.28 it just stops responding.

My wireless network works and the signal was strong, about -50 dBm. I have other Netatmo products and they work.

I managed to connect it by creating an SSID without 5 GHz network (my network has 2.4 and 5 GHz) and present only on one access point.

Is that the cause of my problems? Surreal! A proper WiFi implementation must work with muptiple access points. Moreover, it is much more reliable!

I was seeing the same error message on iOS. I was able to setup using an android device on the first attempt.

I had this issue after resetting my camera and I received the same error using iOS and Android.

I had to set up the camera using my computer

Following this, there were no issues from any mobile device.
