Erroneous Floodlight Event Activation - still an issue

Post by fatbellybinky »

I have a pair of Presence outdoor cameras and the one covering my drive catches a fox that comes every night for food that we put out for him. I want the floodlight to only trigger for people, not animals and that is what I've set it to in the event list for floodlight Auto Mode. However, despite always recognising the fox event as an animal, the floodlight still gets activated which I don't want. This was flagged as an issue back in 2017 but still seems to be a problem, even with the latest App version and camera firmware (251). The only way around it is to turn off floodlight activation completely which defeats the object of having different event settings. The previous explanation given was that the floodlight is triggered before the camera has decided that it's definitely an animal and displayed the event as such. Surely a small delay to allow the camera to identify the event type before triggering the floodlight would work? Is this still "under review" as a problem?
