Digital artifacting and pixilation during playback

Post by Jackcoline »

I've recently added a second outdoor camera to my account.

Now, it could be coincidental but at the same time as adding this new camera, I am now getting really bad digital artefacts and pixilation on footage playback; if I download one of the videos in question locally to my device https://100001.onl/ https://1921681254.mx/ the footage is good quality. I don't recall ever seeing these issues when I only had a single camera. Has anyone else suffered this issue?

I was planning on adding another two cameras to make four in total but worried that the overall product/system just isn't up to the job as I would expect. Given the footage is fine when downloaded, I suspect it must be to do with the streaming from the Netatmo servers(??) but after so many years this should be sorted by now. I guess this is the downside of using a subscription-free service that relies on using a vendor server/service.

Netatmo, any thoughts as to how I can make this better/resolve? I feel a little frustrated after spending a non-insignificant amount of money on two cameras already and am hesitant to get another two unless I can get some reassurance.

Thanks.

Your videos aren't stored on Netatmo servers; Videos played in the Netatmo security app are stored on your camera's SD card and streamed from the camera to your device when you play them.

If the downloaded video plays without corruption, then the problem is likely to be the network connection between the camera and your device.

Make sure you have good WiFi signal to the camera and good internet upload speed if you're watching while away from home.
