Blanking parts of the video

Post by Tim » 09 Nov 2016, 11:00

Could you add an option to blank out several areas of the recorded video (ie. with a black overlay), which should not be captured (for legal or other reasons), similar to the alert areas?

Regards, Tim

Hello jofre,
is there any news on the "blanking out" or "blacking out" parts of the video feature, already?
If I remember correctly, there were several of those requests in other threads on the forum.
As the German law is very strict about privacy in public places, even streets in front of your home, this feature is a must.

Regards,
Tim

+1 for me.
I would like to show my surrounding neighbours that I am only interested in recording my private property

in Austria it is forbidden to record anything which is not your private property except for some limited well documened exeptions (security relevant areas).
So I had to put a sticker on my lens to black out the nearby street.
Not a year 2017 solution in my opinion... :(

jofre,
has this feature been considered and will it be available anytime soon?
Could you give us an update on planned features?

Could you please give an update to the topic above, or if the requested feature is being rolled out some time? There is currently a big privacy discussion regarding cameras in Germany.

Best regards, Tim
