Awesome! Thanks :P

I wonder why all that aluminum is needed. Heat dispersion?

Thanks again, and good luck with your rebuild.

Keep us posted ;)

Thanks, pmoore, for all the images.

May I ask for just one more ?
A high res shot of the main board, right from the top, would be great.
I would like to identify the components they are using as no service manual is available anywhere.

It might hint us to finally understand if the poor video quality is because of hardware limitations or (and ?) bad software encoding.

thx !

Your images reveal they are using an AMPAK module for WiFi+Bluetooth 4.0+FM RX

The SIP Module Spec Sheet can be found here:

looking forward to find out which video processor and RAM units they are using ...

Not yet, too busy with my daytime job which keeps me travelling over the weekend.

The network module they use is a pretty standard one. It is single banded on 2.4GHz and does not allow to work on 5GHz, but has a radio and bluetooth support built-in which Netatmo doesn't use.

I need to get back to pmoore31 for a detailed image of The big chips on the rear side, covered by the plastic. These with the square blue plaster on it are interesting ones as they might be video processor and RAM chips.

It seems the weather station has its own protocol, very similar to z-wave one. Shame they don't had some z-wave interoperability in there modules, would be a 'real' selling point !
