Rad valve not triggering relay to start boiler?

Post by mrcandu »

Hi there

I have just installed a Netatmo relay, thermostat and 1 radiator valve.
My schedules work fine with the thermostat and relay, but the valve doesn't appear to be working correctly.

It seems that the valve on the radiator in the bedroom will not trigger the boiler to start when the requested temperature is above the room temperature.
The valve radiator will heat fine if the boiler is on, but the boiler will only start if it has been triggered to start by the main thermostat in the main room - manual override or schedule.
In this scenario where the boiler is on, if I manually reduce the requested temp on the bedroom valve below the room temperature, it closes and turns the radiator off as expected.

Surely it should be possible to start the boiler from the valve, even if the room that the main thermostat is in does not require it to be on? - is something wrong with my setup?

Any help is gratefully received.

Thanks

Mat.

Looks like i'm on an old firmware version (41) for both the thermostat and valve - hopefully the updates will get rolled out soon and that'll fix it.
