Energy Report with Radiator Valves

Post by AndrewBowden » 06 Apr 2019, 21:01

The current energy report has major failings in houses with Netatmo Radiator valves.

The report just records the proportion of time that the boiler is energised.

In my case, and many others I suspect, I have my schedules set to have low temperatures in unused rooms and, for example, bedrooms in day time.

Thus at any time the boiler may be activated to heat a limited number of rooms perhaps just one. In those circumstances, the boiler will running at much less than capacity, yet the report's simplistic approach assumes that the boiler is either on at full power or off. Thus the report tends to significantly overestimate the energy consumption.
