As a newbie, I’d welcome an update on how rechargeable are performing, please - and which ones are best to use.

Many thanks.

Hi,
Have not seen any reason for testing rechargeables yet. Still going strong at 100% on my Lithium metal batteries.
They are only days from lasting a year now and have performed very well. Inserted them on 4 valve thermostat 16. January 2019. All are still at 100%
I can recommend these batteries if you don't want to use rechargeable batteries.
Any news on rechargeable would be interesting for me as well, as I will consider it when my current batteries are empty.

For me Varta lithium batteries lasted only 2.5 months on one of the valves. Might need to use some crc on the mechanical part of the valve. Currently using Nimh rechargable and those last enough but would be nice to get more out of them.

Just a quick update.

I run NiMH + NiZn combination at the moment.

NiZns are running strong so far, i changed NiMHs 3 - 4 times, NiZn didnt needed charge at all.

Now I gave Blackube LiOn 1.5V rechargeable batteries a try, installed the first two valves 2 months ago and they work perfect and still show as "full" in the app.
Seems to be a perfect fit for those valves!

Yes they are a bit high in price, but charge very fast and easy by just plugging in a Micro-USB cable!

UPDATE: First installed rechargeables are still running after almost 5 months now! Working really well!

It seems that NiZns also will make it through whole season without recharging. I'm just wondering if they will show that they are discharged, or will just die without warning.

HI again,
Short update. My batteries are still going strong. Indicator show 100%. I am 3 days from 2 years, since I changed them.
Very satisfied by this and I think I have only done one recalibration on one valve thermostat, during this period.
For single use batteries, the ones mentioned above, is the ones to try out. Powerful and long lasting. Seems like the perfect match for the valve thermostat and the use.
