Hi everyone
We have two sets of a Relay with three three valves and a thermostat installed in two separate locations, each with its own wifi and community heating system. We use two separate accounts. Everything installs fine, all firmware updates nicely, all valves have full control of the radiator pin - when we set the system to "off" all valves close 100% - no heating at all.
The system reaches target temp without a problem. So why is it, that all radiators stay on after setting a lower temperature? It doesn't matter whether we choose 17, 12 or 5 degrees centigrade, everything stays on and the temperature keeps rising up to about 24 degrees, which is probably the max that our systems handle with the current cold in this country. The only way we can get the radiators to cool down is by shutting off the thermostat.
Sadly the thermostat will ignore all schedules when shut off - there is no "auto-start". When we re-enable the thermostat late at night when the rooms cooled down, we get mystery heating at 7 in the morning (see attached graph), even though the room temperature is way above the target set on the thermostat. It doesn't make a difference whether we use the app, the web interface or the physical thermostat.
So our systems are useless. We will return them to the store unless a clever person understands what's going on here.
The misbehaviour is identical on both systems. We checked all user settings. One system has been installed for two weeks, the other one week, then a complete reinstall and another week of running.
Thanks for your help, Esther and Christian

Re: Everything works, until we lower the target temp
Did you notice that the thermostat or valves are losing connection to the relay?
What happens if you only use the valves, so no thermostat?
I wonder if you bought the right package? Because normally a starter pack for collective heating is only the valves and relay.
Does the relay also have the option to connect it to the boiler, connector with wires?

Re: Everything works, until we lower the target temp
Thanks for your reply, Mark. The store only offered a single pack with the Relay with three three valves and a thermostat, in fact including wiring for a boiler. The manual has instructions for use with and without a boiler. We have no indication that the system is not compatible with collective heating, but this is probably the case.
On one system we tried to start from scratch without the thermostat, but the app insisted on it being connected.

I would return it and try to get the other package, because if it works it works great
If I’m correct the difference is within the relay. The collective heating package works with a different relay and doesn’t require a thermostat.

Re: Everything works, until we lower the target temp
We need a thermostat, so users of the room can control the temperature directly, without having access to the rest of the programming system. It isn't practical to ask them to shut off all three radiators manually either. That is the exact situation I'm trying to solve. They will always leave one on.
Re: Everything works, until we lower the target temp
But if you put the valves from, for example, the living room in the same virtual room in the app they can change the temperature in the room by one of those radiator valves. They don’t need access to the app.
When you change the temperature on one of the valves the other two will automatically follow those settings, same like changing the temperature on the thermostat.

Re: Everything works, until we lower the target temp
Other question:
- was there already a thermostat in the room, before you bought Netatmo? Or did they control the temperature with ‘normal’ thermostatic radiator valves?

Re: Everything works, until we lower the target temp
Of course you are right about the virtual room. However, I see the valves as rather fragile, because they work so different from the old thermostatic valves we had. Someone is bound to try to twist it. We get all sorts of people (it's a rehearsal studio)...
