Thanks pmoore31, I had a quick look at the pictures you have kindly sent an hour ago.
Now, what do we have:
The SoC – Allwinner A83T 8-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor @ either 1.8 or 2.0 GHz, equipped with 512 KB L1 cache, 1 MB L2 cache
Such main processors are being used in ultra-compact computer applications like the ones of chinese Banana Pi, a higher performance version of the well known Raspberry Pi category.
Features:
Decoding of 1080p video, incl. MPEG1/2, MPEG4, H.263, H.264, H.264 high profile 1080p@60fps, 720p@120fps, HEVC/H.265 decoder 1080p@30fps with additional software, stream formats supported like wmv, avi, flv, rm, rmvb, mpeg, ts, mp4, etc.
It supports SATA 2.0 output to storage media such as MicroSD cards
Next is the AXP813 microprocessor unit, often combined in kits with above CPU.
You can buy the micon for 20 US $ at aliexpress.com
Next the two eMMC flash memory chips which are Samsung K4B2G1646E-BCKO.
This is 2GB DDR3 SDRAM each.
You can get these for something between 0.50 to 1.00 US-$ each at
http://vanzhen.en.seekic.com/product/in ... _BCKO.html
The whole set is often used with the AP6212 wifi/bt module with 802.11 b/g/n support at 2.4GHz we have seen in your pictures yesterday.
A whole banana pi board with these components, HDMI chip, card reader, camera etc. will cost you approx. 50 US-$ in China on a single unit price.
Those devices often run Linux or Android builds and can be used as DIY micro computers.
Our Netatmo comes with less features than such Banana Pi, but with its own software, an excellent LED / IR-floodlight, a huge aluminum heat sink, all built-in an a rock solid aluminum housing.
