Valves with no thermostat settings

Post by Blusa »

Hi everyone, this is my very first post, so please forgive me if my question seems to be silly.

Is it possible to set a heating system using valves with a relay but with no thermostat? (I have a boiler, I know it's possible with central heating)

Thanks

Hi,

I think you can.

Hi achlouve, and thanks for the answer.

I'm not sure if that starter pack is only for central heating or is able to trigger a boiler.
What do you think?

I not recommend to buy valves. They need to fix temperature stuck first...

Yeah, I am following the issue in the thread below but i've just bought 5 valves on Amazon.
In case of so big problems i'm going to give them back as soon as i can.

I was just curious if they can work with a boiler but without the thermostat

Thanks

EDIT: Rephrasing the question, why should i need a thermostat if my valves are able to trigger the boiler by themselves? In that case thermostat could only be a problem

Because valve kit relay isnt able to trigger boiler.

Ok, thanks, that's what I suspected. Is it the same with the last firmware update and confort mode?

At least from what i heard the smart valves kit does not include physical pins to trigger boiler on their relay, so it cant be fixed with firmware update.

Right. I understand. The way the system works best is with the thermostat (which seems to be required) is set to a very low temperature. Then the beauty of the system, even though you have only one boiler, any room can turn it on based on the temperature at the smart valve. And then that hot water from the boiler will only flow to the room with the valve(s) that requested the heat because all the other smart valves are turned off.
