Own server

Post by joseluis » 22 Aug 2017, 08:16

Hi,

I would like to stop using your servers and have a way to have my data locally in one of my home servers without depending on you.

Please, note this as Feature Request: use local server / database instead of Netatmo servers. You kill 2 birds on 1 shot: reduce the load on your servers and some users are happier!

PS: Don't suggest to use API to download the data because it's the same, the data go through your servers, if your servers are down, nothing works

Best regards
/José Luis

I would also like this feature for my Healthy Home Coach, personally having to use Netatmo's cloud servers is one of my biggest disappointments using the device.

I want to get data from my device every 10 seconds not every 10 minutes and I don't want to have to rely on internet access to get it.

Netatmo, hurry up and give me local access to my device!

Many times I would like to take the station on camping trips with our RV or out to the cabin. I could even manage a portable router and raspberry Pi, but an internet connection is never something I can count on. Thanks!

Another vote for this. With some other devices (heating controls) it would also be very useful. We don't need apps or interfaces, just a local API to access. An acceptable alternative would be the possibility to specify an additional IP address (in the local device) that data transmissions would be mirrored to.

A note to Netatmo, I would be happy for data still to be sent to your servers, after all this is a revenue stream for you.

Depending on the ongoing server problems we need this feature very soon

+1 also. Or publish the RF protocol used by the outdoor modules so we could do our own receivers. But I'd be happy if there was a local tcp/http server running on the indoor module we could communicate with to pick up data more frequently than the 10 minutes it should be uploading to the internet.

Don't want to upload to Netamo server ??! I think you don't have in sight the mission any longer.
This is a community. All may have interest in having a look at stations over the world.
The most powerful feature is just sharing collected meteo data and covering large part of the planet.
The more we grow the more we get closer to the goal.
