Display on 1024x600 and 600x1024 screen

Post by stanikuz »

Dears software developers of Netatmo app!

There is good trend to use cheap tablet to show your app constantly.
I found numerous of cheap tablet models that have screen size 1024x600. So, I purchased one, install Netatmo app and app for keeping screen on constantly.

However, I found that it is not so funny, because layouts for portrait and landscape modes seem not so optimal as it would be.
Could you please look at screenshots? Possibly, you could fix some layout issues, especially for landscape mode.

Portrait mode:
- Forecast area could have more vertical size to fit all parameters in one column per day if you'll use free space in top of the screen to move 'indoor' and 'outdoor' area upwards.
- The messages like '12 - Very low' and '40 - Good' could be slightly shifted downwards to center inside their fields.
- Font for the day of month could be slightly bigger to harmonize with font of weekday and name of month.

Landscape mode:
- The fonts of maximum and minimum temperatures could be slightly smaller to proper fitting on the panel area and to unstick units from their values.
- Some areas from left and right sides could be useful to fitting more than one day of forecast: possibly two days of forecast horizontally or three areas (Summary/Temperature/Rain) of one day vertically on the right side (like on iPad).

Additionally, take a look on the graph screens for the mentioned resolutions.

You can see two issues:
1. Very bold dots
2. In landscape mode: incorrect values on the axis of temperature "0 / -25 / -25 / -25" instead of "-25 / -15 / -5 / 5" (as in portrait mode).
