Thermostate battery out in open state?

Post by Astralix »

Hi!

I am pretty new to the top-notch thermostates. But I had been used to the cheap ones for years now. One big problem of the cheap ones are, that they almost every time fail in open state. They can wind in the pin to open the valve, but then fail to close it when the battery gets low.

Today I learned that this also happens with Netatmo. To be honest, I wouldn't have expected that. I really thought that such a well priced system should be able to detect a low battery state and then react responsible. Unfortunately this morning the valve in my home office was stuck open with low battery and I din't see any warning in the app before. So the poor radiator tried to rise the heat in the office to 40+°C...

In times of energy prices racing to new geights every day, I would suggest an software upgrade?

All the best!
