Water/moisture on lens in rainy weather

Post by passatgt »

Hi! I have an issue with my 5 year old camera. If it rains, the lens gets foggy and this causes the picture to be really blurry, especially in colder temperatures. If the sun comes up, it will dry out in a couple of hours and works normally. I know its out of warranty by now, but everything works fine apart from this issue so i'm hoping i can resolve this issue. Any ideas, tips on how to fix this? What i tried so far is to remove the plastic lens cover(its easy to pop it out once you remove the bottom) and i placed a thin rubber seal around the lens, so the lens cover is not pressed against it, but sadly this didn't help. Am i in the right direction on fixing this, this might be the issue? I can see a small factory rubber seal around the lens, maybe this got old and it won't seal properly and lets some moisture build up inside due to heat?
