Upside Down - not possible because of water leakage?

Post by levivo »

Hi @ all,

i am wondering if i can mount the outdoor camera upside down without any rain protection above the camera?
The software has the option to rotate the camera picture, so in general it should be possible.

But if you turn the camera upside down you can see, there are several open spots and holes under the camera (the area with the sd card cover). The rain would go through these holes it can easy run to the sd card and to other electronic parts which are open and visible after opening this sd card cover.

I hope you all understood what i meant. Does anyone has any experiences mounting the camera upside down without a cover above the camera?
Is there a solution to avoid running water from above into the camera?

Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks

It might be a little dangerous to mount an outdoor camera upside down without any weather protection. Water might potentially get inside the camera through the exposed areas and holes and harm the SD card and other vital components.
