Hey guys,

not sure if it helps, but a friend of mine had the same problem. It was caused by a contact problem at the minus end of the battery. He fixed it by putting some kitchenfoil between the battery and the minus contact.

Please let me know if this works for you!

lol
you expect people to build a solar panel for the module???

i paid 200GBP on this - dont want/know/want to know how to build a solar panel to power the unit - but good to you - not something many would be capable of doing

Just a "Me Too" post to say my outdoor module is now eating a set of batteries a week.

Will try to take it apart and clean it thoroughly and am pretty sure it is weather\water tight dependent.. I took it inside for a week (after cleaning and replacing batteries) and it lasted for a month. placed it back outside and it eats the batteries in a week again.

I am trying to locate and purchase these really nice looking covers, but the webshops are horrible\soldout\not translatable to English or refuse to ship to Norway.. What the heck??.. anyways, that is another topic..
Weather Cover
Weather Cover
My firmware is "44" and the serial number is h179f0a - I have NOT contacted NetAtmo or raised a ticket, maybe I will.. just not real excited to ship the unit to France and wait, if it is just a moisture issue.

Fingers crossed!

Jeff

I gave up and have contacted support today, waiting to hear back.

Last night I tried to clean it thoroughly, replaced the batteries again, used some compressed air and blew the entire module out and it still does not work.

I am hoping for a replacement or repair and get back in business!

I am surprised that no one measured power consumption of good/faulty outdoor module so far in this long thread.
My outdoor module is running 14 months on original pair of AAA alkaline batteries and actual battery status is still high Image on scale: verylow - low - medium - high - full.

So I think that my outdoor module is still in good condition, because it has no marks of excessive battery eating.
Its idle current is 4,1 µA.

I think this is now a widespread issue - i always check their neatmo map and in the past few weeks loads of stations went offline - i can imagine battery drained ...shame but it seems its the end of it
if anyone can suggest similar products - but different supplier

There are number of them:
Oregon Scientific had one with similar features but not as nicely design.
archos.com has one, but I have not looked into that one.
bloomsky.com has as a one with solar panel and sky cam.

I like the idea with solar panel.
I would like Netatmo to make an outdoor unit with solar panel, anemometer, rain gauge, temperature and humidity. Plus UV and soil/pool termometer cable.
